This week, I got the chance to partner with 24S.com to feature some of their luxury fashion pieces. I adore France and was a French major in college. My freshmen year, I spent the summer in Lille (Northern France) working for Les Petit Freres des Pauvres. I’m not sure how my parents allowed it at 19, but I flew there alone. I didn’t even have a working cell phone!
I lived with other interns from Poland and Ireland in a dormitory. Everyone in the building (there were other students too) shared a kitchen in the basement, and it was such a melting pot of students from around the world. I still keep in touch with my Polish friends today and nearly met up with one in DC a few years ago. I spent my days visiting elderly in their homes or at nursing homes, making conversation with them and keeping their spirits up. By the second week, I was completely immersed and even started thinking in French. It was really such an amazing experience.
Then my senior year, I studied in Paris and lived with a family in the 16th arrondissement. Those months were equally as amazing, and I loved living with my family and seeing first hand how the French live. Some nights, I would go out with the son (he was 26 I think) and his friends, and they’d show me all the cool bars in Paris, drive me past the Eiffel Tower while it was all lit up, and try to explain the rules of rugby to me…
In college, I dreamed of working for L’Oreal or L’Occitane and using my PR and French degrees, but I ended up working back in my hometown for the transit authority. Ha! Tres chic.
So in a way, this collaboration was a way for me to live out my dream. Thanks for your support.
24S is a member of the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) group. They are the exclusive online partner for Louis Vuitton , Dior, Celine and Moynat globally. (So if you’ve had your eye on Celine sunglasses, an LV speedy, or the Moynat tote, you know how impossible it can be to find them online – until now.)
I was able to pick something from their site, so I chose two dresses from Farm Rio. I love their bold prints and tropical flare and have heard great things. I also chose some Chloe sunglasses that I adore. I love designer sunglasses because they’re just the right amount of splurge for me, and with the Miami sun, I’m all about protecting my eyes.
The Farm Rio dresses are linen. They’re amazing quality and something I know I can wear a lot. The long white dress was a bit tight on top for me, but something I could easily move the button and resolve. I ordered a medium (the large probably would work for me too). I ordered a large in the green mini, and it fits well but was a bit bigger on top. I guess I’m just between sizes! That dress is so fun, though. Perfect for one last dinner in Miami,.
Here are some still shots from the campaign, thanks for your love on it!
A bientôt,
Jill
