Very excited to share with you a major update on our kitchen renovation. I say update because I’m so used to NOT being finished, but we really are close to being done with our kitchen renovation. Instead of waiting for it to be completely done, I decided to share pictures of its progress because we’re so IN LOVE.
We still need to unpack the scullery, and our drawer microwave needs to be trimmed out, but other than that, we’re cooking with gas, baby.
Rule followers might not love my kitchen because it does mix quite a bit – warm colors with cool, brasses with coppers and silver pieces, new finds with items I’ve thrifted over the years. To me, it all sings off the same sheet of music, and I don’t really care if someone has issues with it. For once, I’m designing for our family and not for the next buyer. That feels pretty darn good.
Starting off with my favorite corner. I wanted a shelf where I could change out artwork and decor easily with the seasons.
It took almost 10 drafts to get the design for this backsplash right, but I’m glad we pushed through. Our fabricators were awesome and encouraged us to dream big with it and not settle.
These counter stools were a steal. This is one space where I saved but don’t feel like I compromised. They’re the perfect cream color, and I love their old world style.
We did a similar pattern above the sink area. I’m glad our fabricator suggested this because initially, I was just going to run the shelf the entire length. It gives the space some curves and a feminine touch.
I love that I can swap out artwork so easily. Down the line, I might hang some picture lights above them.
Stay tuned for the scullery!
Jill
