It’s crunch time for holiday shopping, and you may be looking around your home, thinking “Do we actually need anything?” While there are lots of different ways you can approach that question, I’ve rounded up some gifts we use as a family that create more time together.
We’ve had our eyes on these electric bikes for awhile now, and we took the plunge earlier this Fall. Ours have a seat on the back that our children can ride on, but you can also use that area for hauling things. I absolutely adore this bike and love the memories we’ve already made, riding around our area. My kids take note of things they don’t see or hear in cars, like the birds swooping down or the scents from flowers in the blooming trees.
We also picked up this portable pickle ball net earlier this year, along with pickle ball paddles. This net is so neat. We head over to our neighborhood tennis courts and set it up on one side of the court. You could also do this for basketball courts that no one is using. My kids are 5 and 6, and pickleball has been easy for them to get into. To be fair, we don’t really play by any rules, since there’s no “kitchen” on our make-shift court, but spending time together and getting exercise are our goals here. Not Olympic-Pickleball training. 😛 You can also adjust the net to be higher for badminton!

We’re determined to make the most of our time in Florida, and that means lots of outdoor living. In the winter, our pool is too cold, but our backyard becomes the perfect hang out spot. On weekends, we pop up this screen and plug in this projector to watch anything from movies to videos off my phone. It doesn’t take long to set up, and it’s something I know my kids will remember fondly. Be sure to add the adapter to your cart that I have linked!

Last Christmas, we bought our kids their own sets of golf clubs. Mike and I love to golf, but we haven’t had the chance to go very often since having kids. It’s always been our dream to be able to golf with our kids, so this was our attempt at getting them into the sport. They actually loved it! We have a driving range near our house that we like to go to with them. Hopefully soon, they’ll be ready to go to a course with us, but for now, the driving range is still fun!
