I have two big reveals planned for you today. The first is one of the bedrooms in our condo vacation rental, and the second is our primary bathroom remodel in our house. As you might recall, we’re currently living in our condo while we finish renovations on our house.
We bought our condo furnished, but it was giving more of a roadside motel vibe than a luxury hotel. We donated and threw out almost everything and will be replacing it with brand new items over the next couple months.
The condo has three bedrooms, and one of the bedrooms is large enough to fit two queen size beds. I was so excited when I found these beds on Wayfair because the price is incredible and it achieved the custom look I’m after, with headboards that match the bedskirts. I love the plaid pattern on them, very traditional and slightly Williamsburg. I envisioned an Americana bedroom, perfect for those interested in visiting Colonial Williamsburg and staying at our place. With two queen beds, this could be a room for the kids who stay here.
When the beds arrived, Mike and I were really blown away by the quality. The headboard is very sturdy and is comfortable to lean on when reading in bed. He was able to put them both together in about an hour. One thing to note is that we would recommend a box spring to achieve this “tall bed” look.

I knew I needed some lighting for the room. It was pretty dark in here, and painting it white only goes so far. I opted for this scalloped lamp from Wayfair, and it fits the bill nicely. The rattan shade has a warm texture to it, and the scalloped detail is perfect for a child’s room. I think I’ll order a second one for the other side of the nightstand.
I wish I had filmed my son’s reaction to this makeover because he loves it so much! It’s been hard to get him out of bed in the morning because he wants to stay here. It’s amazing what a room renovation can do.

I also want to have some games on hand for our guests. I recently picked up a giant game of checkers for the living room, but we have such a beautiful back yard here that I needed something for outside. I spotted this corn hole set on Wayfair and knew it would be perfect. This is such a beautiful and well-made set. Mike says he wants one for our own house. It’s a beautiful set that would make a great gift.
When the sun’s setting, our family has been hanging out here, tossing the bean bags. My kids are actually getting pretty good! (Mike and I better watch out. We’re nurturing our own competition).

Our Primary. Bathroom Remodel – All White Marble Bathroom
Back at the house, we’re making some major progress on our primary bathroom. After much deliberation, I went for my dream look – a white marble bathroom. I found so much for our bathroom on Wayfair, including our soaker tub, our double vanity, our light up mirrors, and our new faucets, which are on sale for their Labor Day Clearance.
Aren’t they gorgeous? I love the look of chrome against marble. It’s such a classic look. These faucets also have this notched detail that reminds me of trim work. We’re so pleased with them.
My light-up mirrors can be turned off and on by pressing on them. They also have a de-fogging feature for when the bathroom is steamy, but you need to get ready. They were hung a little too high, but don’t worry – we’ll fix that.
Overall, I’m so pleased I went with the all-marble bathroom. This is stunning in real life, and shopping on Wayfair made it easy. I was able to source all of this while living in Florida and having it shipped to Virginia. Seeing reviews from other shoppers was so helpful during the process – I didn’t have to make one return! Shipping was fast too!
