After almost a year in the making, I’m beyond excited to share our white marble bathroom remodel with you today! This project has been a labor of love, and I can’t wait to walk you through the transformation.
The Before: A Cramped and Dated Space
When we purchased our home, the bathroom off the primary bedroom was far from ideal. It had a small closet on the right, a single vanity on the left, and an awkward layout that made the space feel cramped. The original bathroom also featured a blue tub/shower combo, a second single vanity, and a toilet tucked behind yet another door.
The vanities were also incredibly low to the ground—especially for Mike—so we knew a complete overhaul was necessary.

The Vision: A Luxurious White Marble Bathroom Design
After playing around with different layout ideas, we decided to gut the entire bathroom and start fresh. My dream has always been for a white marble bathroom, like a five star resort. I was afraid of the maintenance and delicate nature of marble, but in the spirit of making this my forever home, I decided to push through and do a white marble bath.
For the layout, I wanted to find a way to incorporate a freestanding tub, a double vanity, and a dedicated toilet room to enhance both functionality and aesthetics.
To bring this vision to life, we made a few major structural changes:
– Removed the right-side closet to make space for a toilet room
– Reconfigured the plumbing to allow for a double vanity.
– Moved the toilet and right-side vanity to make space for a freestanding tub
– Designed a large, spa-like shower along the back wall.
The Materials: White Carrara Marble Bathroom Ideas
For a timeless and elegant look, we chose white Sahara Carrara marble throughout the space. Here’s how we incorporated it:
- 12 x 24 bathroom tile for the floors and lower shower walls.
- 6 x 12 Sahara Marble tile above the Calcutta marble trim in the shower
- Carrara marble countertops for the double vanity to tie everything together.
- hexagon Sahara marble for the shower floor
These elements not only create a cohesive white marble bathroom design but also make the space feel open, airy, and luxurious.
The Final Reveal: A Spa-Like Escape
Now that the renovation is complete, I can confidently say that this is my dream white marble bathroom! The freestanding tub adds a touch of elegance, the double vanity provides plenty of storage, and the oversized shower makes every day feel like a spa day.
If you’re considering a white Carrara marble bathroom for your own home, I highly recommend it—it’s a classic choice that never goes out of style.
I fell in love with this telephone style bath faucet.
So happy we went with these mirrors. They may look a little more modern than I usually do, but they’re so useful. You tap them to turn them on and they have a de-fog button, too. Perfect when you’re getting ready after a hot shower.
Mike had the idea to make our shower controls on the back wall, so you don’t get sprayed when you go in to turn it on. Highly recommend.
