Outdoor furniture for your poolside patio
Our poolside consists of two main seating areas. First, we have an outdoor conversation set that sits in the shade. This overlooks the pool and is great for seating about 4 people comfortably. We tend to use this when we have guests over, or when the hot Florida sun is too hot.
We also have sun loungers by the pool. These have a thick cushion on them and are incredibly comfortable. The covers also come off and are machine washable, but don’t even worry about that, because the water-resistant fabric is also highly durable. I love that these can fully recline, so if you’d like to grab a quick nap by the pool, this is the place.
Outdoor furniture for your back deck patio
On our new back patio, we have our giant outdoor table and chairs. This white outdoor table was hard to find, but I’m so happy I finally found one that’s reasonably priced. It comes with a leaf, so if you’d like to extend it (as shown), it can seat up to 10 people comfortably. We tend to keep its leaf in it at all times!
I also have our bistro chairs that have held up extremely well over the past three years. These are great for indoor and outdoor use because they wipe clean and don’t require a cushion. I love the French bistro style, and I think they pair nicely with the white table.
Outdoor rugs and pillows
All of our spaces have an outdoor rug underneath them. It helps to anchor the space and also save your feet from hot surfaces.
In our poolside conversation area, I have two polypropylene rugs. These are extremely durable, fade-resistant, and mildew-free. I hardly ever have to clean them, but if you did, they would wash clean with just a regular hose. They also dry out quickly, which is important because of our regular afternoon rainstorm in Miami. On our back deck, we have one of my favorite outdoor rugs. I’ve used this both indoors and outdoors before. It’s soft underfoot and is more of a woven material.
My favorite outdoor pillows for Grandmillennial style come from Ballard Designs. I have mine monogrammed and in cornflower blue. They’re made with Sunbrella fabric, and I’ve noticed minimal fading in the hot sun. I have more outdoor pillows and decor linked here on my LTK.
Patio umbrellas
Living in Miami, it’s really important to have a good outdoor patio umbrella. We currently own two. Our first umbrella is an offset umbrella for over our pool. This one is really heavy, which is important because we do get some high winds. I love the ease with which it tilts and can cast shade over our pool.
If you’re looking for a more grandmillennial style outdoor umbrella, I love our white scalloped patio umbrella. It can also tilt, but it does require its own umbrella stand.

My favorite ways to accentuate your Grandmillennial outdoor patio include:
Garden Stools – You can find a variety of patterns and styles in garden stool. I use them as end tables or cocktail tables outdoors, making the perfect place for your drink to rest. I tend to use floral patterned garden stools and I love this elephant one (make sure your trunk always points up!).
Chinoiserie plates – Don’t forget your dishware! I love my melamine Chinoiserie plates. They’re lightweight and less breakable, which is important poolside. I also use melamine glasses, too.
Fresh flowers and planters – Take some time to nurture some plants for beside your pool and outdoor dining area. This can even be a simple cut flower garden from seeds that you can pick from for a quick arrangement.
