Since I was a young girl, I’ve always loved decorating and dreaming of ways to change up my room.  When I married my husband who is in the Coast Guard, I got the opportunity to move every few years, sometimes states away, and experiment with new home styles.  We purchased fixer uppers and spent our weekends renovating our home, with my husband’s woodworking and my styling, we found a new passion in home renovations.  Today, we’re finally settled in our “retirement” home in Williamsburg, Virginia, where I’m sharing our take on modern colonial style.  I hope you’ll follow along as we renovate and decorate.  You can also stay at our new Airbnb in Williamsburg, VA, if you want to enjoy our new “hometown” with us. I was born and raised in Johnstown, PA. In my twenties, I met my husband who happened to be in the Coast Guard. When we got orders to New Orleans, I picked up and left everything I knew to start our life together. Decorating (and fixing!) our home became our favorite shared hobby.

When we received orders to move to Virginia, we began taking on more serious home projects. Mike began to thrive with his woodworking, and I found my style in the Grandmillennial antiques of Virginia. We bought an “as-is” fixer upper and that’s when I began sharing our projects online. How quickly it grew!

We then spent a few years in Miami, so if you see some coastal style rooms, that’s probably from our time there! It was fun to explore a completely new style to me. 

Mike is nearing retirement from the Coast Guard, so we’re planting roots in Williamsburg, Virginia and sharing our take on modern colonial style.
