This year, I wanted to create a warm, classic look that felt festive without being overdone. And as always, Wayfair had everything I needed to make it happen. The Garland Glow
I love the look of a garland draped across a mantle — but it has to be high-quality for me. Nothing ruins a beautiful room faster than a sparse or plastic-looking garland. This one from Wayfair is absolutely gorgeous, full and lush, with a realistic texture that instantly elevates the whole room. I used two strands to give it that layered, overflowing look I love. To add a soft glow in the evenings, I placed hurricane glasses with flameless candles on either side of the mantle. They cast the prettiest flickering light — enough to make the room feel cozy, but not so bright that it distracts from a movie night.
Subtle Styling Details
I decided to go asymmetrical with the rest of the decor — grouping gold bells on one side of the mantle and letting them cascade naturally for a touch of charm and movement. On that same side, I hung these beautiful cream-colored stockings that add such lovely texture against the dark wood. The embroidery on them is amazing!
And since I used faux greenery this year, I still wanted that fresh pine scent in the air. This Balsam & Cedar reed diffuser from Wayfair has been the perfect solution — subtle, classic, and it instantly makes the whole room smell like Christmas morning.
Cozy for Movie Nights
To finish off the look (and because I can’t resist a soft blanket this time of year), I added a Fair Isle print throw — it’s cozy, timeless, and perfect for curling up on the couch. We’re officially kicking off our Christmas movie spree in here tonight, and I can’t wait to see my family’s reaction to the holiday refresh. It feels festive, inviting, and perfectly “us.”
