One of the best things about living in Southern Florida is the indoor/outdoor living you can do. I met yesterday with a company about installing a back porch patio on our house along with a deck underneath. With patios on the brain, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite patio furniture Walmart and other retailers have for this Spring.
I know it might be too soon for a lot of you to even THINK about warm weather, but in my experience, these patio items can be sold out by February. Things that can be hard to track down include:
- outdoor pillows
- conversation sets
- outdoor tables
- bistro chairs
- garden stools
- outdoor dining tables
- outdoor flower planters
- patio umbrellas in certain colors
If you have any room to hold onto these items until warmer weather, I’d suggest shopping early!
Selecting the Right Outdoor Patio Furniture
Before you browse the list, I recommend taking a moment to think about your outdoor space. What do you use it for? What do you intend to use it for? Is it a place for outdoor dining? Entertaining? Or sun lounging?
If you’re looking for an outdoor dining table, think about how many seats you’ll want. Is there a particular style you’re looking for? I love my indoor/outdoor bistro chairs, and I’ve used them both inside and outside of my house. Wood materials like acacia wood may be better in warmer climates, instead of metal tables. They won’t rust or become too hot. They do require some maintenance, though, like rubbing them down with teak oil annually.
For outdoor dining tables, I also like to recommend shopping for chairs and tables separately. Sometimes you’re able to get an inexpensive outdoor table and pair it with some chairs you already own or can find at a later date. That’s what I did with my outdoor table and bistro chairs.

Choosing an Outdoor Sectional
Maybe you’re looking for an outdoor conversation set or sectional. These are great if you want something you can relax on. While these are great for lounging, they may not be the best choice if you really want a place to eat outside. If you’re set on a sectional, consider how many seats you need. Of course, the more people that can fit on the sectional, the more expensive it will be.
Versatile sectional that also has a dining table
But one additional thing to consider is the layout of the outdoor sectional. Sometimes your space requires a specific layout, with a chaise going in a certain direction. The sectional we own, however, is convertible, so I love that no matter where we move it around the pool, it always works.
If you don’t entertain often, you may be able to get a smaller outdoor sectional and purchase some stools or affordable Adirondack chairs for guests.
